Event Styling Brisbane: How We Turned a School’s 50th Anniversary Into a Night Nobody’s Forgetting

The Brief

The school had been around for five decades. That’s generations of students, teachers, staff, and stories. They wanted an event that matched the significance of that milestone — something their community would genuinely remember.

They came with a theme in mind: 1920s glamour. Our job was to take that idea and build a world around it.

Our Approach to Brisbane Event Styling

From the moment guests arrived, the experience was intentional. A red carpet entrance flanked by gold rope barriers set the tone immediately. This wasn’t a function room with some decorations. This was an event.

Inside, we created a full 1920s immersive atmosphere. A white feather feature wall served as the dramatic backdrop for the space. Crystal chandelier stands caught the candlelight from every angle. Gold satin draping, vintage decanters, velvet armchairs in deep green, and candles across every surface created a warmth and richness that made the whole room feel alive.

But the real centrepiece was the absinthe bar.

We set up an antique absinthe fountain — the kind you’d have found in a Parisian bar in 1922 — operated by a period-dressed bartender who performed the traditional sugar cube ritual throughout the night. Guests would line up, watch the process, ask questions, and walk away with something they’d genuinely never experienced before.

It became the moment everyone talked about.
